SMU Water Purchased Water Rate Case

The Town of Scott Water Utility has filed an application with the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to increase water rates through its Purchased Water Adjustment Clause (PWAC). The increase is necessary due to an increase in rates by its wholesale water provider, Green Bay Water Utility.

In the Final Decision in docket 2350-WR-114, served on April 1, 2020, the Commission approved Green Bay Water Utility’s application to increase water rates by 4.4 percent, pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 196.20, which increased the cost of the water that the Town of Scott Water Utility purchases from Green Bay Water Utility.

If the PWAC request is granted, the water bill for an average residential customer with a ⅝-inch or ¾-inch meter who uses 9,000 gallons of water per quarter will increase from $83.51 to $84.50, or 1.19% (including the public fire protection charge).
