Chip Sealing Projects Scheduled Throughout the Town of Scott

The Town of Scott has contracted with Fahrner Asphalt Sealers, LLC to complete chip sealing projects at various locations throughout the town, including:
•    Church Road — from Bay Settlement Road to STH 57
•    Scott Tower Drive — from the Fish & Wildlife Building south to Champeau Road
•    Maloney Road
•    Bodart Road — from Reiner Road north to Nicolet Road south
•    Braemer Circle

The work is tentatively scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and is anticipated to be completed by Monday, August 31, 2026.

Please be aware that the schedule is subject to change. Weather conditions, unforeseen circumstances, or other factors may affect the timing and completion of the work on any given day.
Residents and motorists are encouraged to use caution and allow additional travel time when traveling through active work areas.
What Residents Can Expect During Chip sealing
Chip sealing is a roadway maintenance process in which a thin layer of heated asphalt emulsion (oil) is sprayed over the road surface and then covered with a layer of aggregate (small stone). Pneumatic-tired rollers are then used to firmly embed the aggregate into the asphalt emulsion.
Once the rolling process is completed, vehicular traffic can generally resume. The chip sealing process takes approximately 30 minutes in any given location. Some loose aggregate may remain on the roadway immediately following the application and during the post-application period.
How You Can Help
To help the work proceed quickly and with minimal inconvenience to residents, we ask for your cooperation with the following:
•    Please do not water your lawn while chip sealing work is taking place in your area. Residents in affected areas received door hangers on August 24 with information about the upcoming work.
•    Please observe any temporary No Parking signs that may be posted as needed.
•    Drive slowly and use caution when traveling through areas where chip sealing has recently been completed. Some loose aggregate may be present until it is fully incorporated into the roadway.
Under normal weather conditions, the roadway should be returned to normal travel conditions the same day.
