EMERGENCY NOTICE: PRECAUTIONARY BOIL/BOTTLE WATER ADVISORY

TOWN OF SCOTT, BROWN COUNTYPRECAUTIONARY BOIL/BOTTLE WATER ADVISORY

If you live in the Town of Scott, south of Van Lanen Road and your residence is serviced by municipal water, you are hereby notified to boil your water.

On June 24, 2026, the DNR was notified that there was a loss of water pressure at the Town of Scott.  A loss of water pressure can result in the introduction of bacterial contaminants (coliform or E. coli) into the water supply system. The quality of the water is unknown at this time.

When water pressure returns it will spit air and also run cloudy. Wisconsin DNR requires us to collect four water samples following a loss of water pressure and recommends that you not drink or use it for potable purposes until samples verify that it is safe.  You may use the water for washing and flushing when it comes back on, but not for drinking. Continue to drink water you set aside, or buy bottled water, or boil your water for 1 minute and cool it before drinking it until we notify you the water tested “safe”.

The water valve is currently operational, and the water system pressure has been restored.

As a precautionary measure, you should use boiled or bottled water until we inform you that our sampling shows that no bacteria are present.  We are working to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

If you have any questions regarding the safety of your drinking water, please contact:
