Running for Office
The Municipal Clerk for the Town of Scott serves as the filing officer for nomination papers for the local offices of Town Supervisor, Town Chairperson, and Town Constable.
In even-numbered years, two Town Supervisor positions appear on the ballot in the April election.
In odd-numbered years, the April ballot includes two Town Supervisors, one Town Chairperson, and two Town Constable positions.
If necessary, a primary election may be held in February.
Important Dates:
December 1, 2025:
First day for candidates to circulate nomination papers for the 2026 Spring Election.
December 26, 2025:
Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for incumbents not seeking reelection to file Notification of Noncandidacy (El-163) with the filing officer.
January 6, 2026 Deadline (5:00 p.m.)
Deadline (5:00 p.m.) for candidates to file nomination papers, declarations of candidacy, and campaign registration statements for the 2026 Spring Election with the filing officer.
Tuesday, February 17, 2026 Primary Election Day (if neccessary).
Tuesday, April 7, 2026 Election Day

- Register your Campaign Committee A current registration (CF-1L) must be filed prior to raising or spending any funds, and no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026 or the candidate’s name will not be placed on the ballot. - Complete and Submit a Declaration of Candidacy (EL-162) to the filing officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 or the candidate’s name will not be placed on the ballot.
- Circulate and Submit Nomination Papers for Nonpartisan Office (Form EL-169) to the filing officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 or the candidate’s name will not be placed on the ballot. Only original nomination papers (no photocopies, faxes, or emailed documents) will be accepted. Nomination papers may not be circulated before December 1, 2025. Wis. Stat. § 8.10(2), Wis. Admin.
